Plasma pen fibroblast skin tightening treatment at Ella Beauty Skin Care in Newark, NJ
In short

Plasma pen skin tightening at Ella Beauty Skin Care in Newark starts at $250, depending on the area. The device creates tiny controlled points on the surface of the skin that make it contract immediately and rebuild collagen over the following weeks. It works best on mild to moderate hooded eyelids, crow's feet and lip lines. Expect small dark dots for five to seven days, swelling for two to three days, and a final result at about three months that typically lasts two to three years.

How the plasma pen works

The device ionizes gas in the tiny gap between its tip and your skin, creating a small plasma arc that never physically touches you. Each point turns a microscopic amount of surface tissue straight to vapor and leaves a small carbon dot. The skin around each dot contracts instantly, which is the tightening you see the same day.

Underneath, the controlled injury prompts fibroblasts to lay down new collagen over the following weeks. So there is an immediate effect and a slower one, and the final result arrives at about three months.

What it treats

  • Hooded upper eyelids, mild to moderate
  • Crow's feet and crepey skin at the outer corner of the eye
  • Fine lines above the lip that lipstick bleeds into
  • Loose skin under the eyes, treated conservatively
  • Loose skin on the face and neck

Who it is not for

If your upper lid skin rests on your lashes, if the hooding comes from fat pockets rather than loose skin, or if a dropped brow is pushing the lid down, the plasma pen is not the answer. That last one is often HIFU territory.

It is also not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over an active infection or cold sore, after recent isotretinoin, or on anyone with a history of keloid scarring. And not a month before a beach vacation.

The recovery timeline

What to expect

  • Day 0: small dark dots in a grid, swelling begins
  • Days 1 to 3: swelling peaks. Sleep propped up and use a cold compress
  • Days 4 to 7: dots flake off on their own. Never pick them
  • Days 7 to 14: pink skin underneath, mineral makeup is fine
  • Weeks 3 to 12: collagen remodeling, the result you keep

Keep the area dry for 48 hours, wear no makeup until every dot has fallen off, and use SPF 30 on the area every day for at least three months.

Plasma Pen: common questions

How much does plasma pen cost in Newark, NJ?

Plasma pen treatment starts at $250 at Ella Beauty Skin Care, 520 Ferry Street, Newark. The final price depends on the area and how much is being treated, and it is set at your free consultation.

What can the plasma pen treat?

Mild to moderate hooded upper eyelids, crow's feet and crepey skin at the outer eye, fine lines above the lip, and loose skin under the eyes treated conservatively.

What is the recovery like?

Small dark dots form right away and flake off on their own in about five to seven days. Swelling around the eyes peaks on day two or three and can be significant. Most people take a few days away from anything social.

Does the plasma pen hurt?

Numbing cream is applied for around 45 minutes first. Most people describe the treatment as small hot pinpricks, uncomfortable but tolerable.

How long do plasma pen results last?

Typically two to three years. Your face keeps aging, so the result softens gradually rather than disappearing at once.

Is plasma pen safe on dark skin?

It needs real caution. Deeper skin can respond to surface injury with dark marks, so a patch test, conservative technique and strict sun protection are essential. For some skin types, HIFU or Morpheus8 is the safer recommendation.

Can it replace eyelid surgery?

No. It suits mild to moderate hooding in someone who does not want surgery. If the eyelid skin rests on the lashes or affects your vision, a surgical consultation is the right answer.

Plasma case or surgical case?

Priscila will tell you plainly, in person. This treatment is never booked without a free consultation first.
